Victorian Tea Room

great for hosting a dining event

The Victorian Tea Room is attractively decorated in Victorian flavor. Much of the furniture was donated by Mrs. W. W. Alder and was used in the original Community House (the Walker Home). The walls are covered with floral wallpaper with formal gold drapes adorning the windows. A beautiful crystal and brass chandelier hangs in the center of the dining room. The silver punch bowl and tray, silver coffee service, and a silver water decanter with attached cup on display are available for use. There are two wooden serving tables, a marble sideboard with machine dovetailing in the East lake style, a small marble top walnut serving table, and a wonderful solid walnut East lake style table with four leaves

The chairs include eight cane-bottom, cane-back chairs and two Eastlake cane-bottom chairs. Under the unusual walnut pendulum clock is an Eastlake joint top solid walnut hall table. Over the sideboard hangs an elaborate carved gold leaf mirror. The two exceptional bronze and glass flower urns complete the furnishing of this room. Adjoining this room is a fully equipped kitchen with china, glassware and silverware with linens also available. The room can be used for dining and will seat up to 24.
