DUNCAN HALL PHOTO CONTEST 2010 WINNERS
The winners of the recent Duncan Hall Photography Contest will be
displayed during the July 16 Gallery Walk at the hall.
This year a special Girvan Award was given for the best photograph taken
of the Duncan Hall building or grounds. Thomas Duncan, an accomplished
photographer, was born in Girvan, Scotland.
Prizes for the contest included gift cards to three fine Lafayette
restaurants and a high quality photo prints from Color Tech. First prize
was a $100.00 gift card to Bistro 501 and a 16’ X 20” print. The winner of
the Girvan Award received a crystal trophy and a 16” x 20” custom frame
from Kelley’s Custom Frames.
The winner of the Girvan award was Vernon Hendrickson. That photo showed
the Haywood Room. Hendrickson also won honorable mention in that category,
for a picture showing a flag through a window in the Alder Room.

For the general category, First prize was won by Jennifer DeBlasio, a
photo of two young ballerinas in a street scene. Second prize was won by
Lea Foster, a photo of a swimming tortoise. Third prize was won by Chris
Daughtry, a rustic barn. Two honorable mentions were won by Dave Trent:
one was of a fence and sky; another was of a building on Ferry Street
through an upstairs window. The third Honorable Mention was won by Roger
Carnes, a photo of a glass sculpture.

Third prize was won by Chris Daughtry, Rustic Barn
